Masala Tea / Masala Chai recipe

I am going to share how to make masala tea at home. I usually dont prefer to have tea outside, because i tasted it few times and disappointed always. It is a milk tea with a perfect blend of spices.

Preparation time : 2 mins

Cooking time : 10 mins

Ingredients:

  1. Milk – 1/2 cup
  2. Tea powder – 2 tsp
  3. Ginger – 1/2 inch
  4. Cardomom – 1
  5. Cinnamon – 1/2 inch
  6. Clove – 1
  7. Nutmeg powder – a pinch
  8. Mint/Pudhina leaves – 6 leaves
  9. Water – 1 1/2 cup
  10. Sugar – 2 tsp

Method:

  1. Peel and crush the ginger and remove skin of cardomom and crush it well
  2. Bring 1+1/2 cups of water to boil in the stove
  3. Add ginger, cardomom, cinnamon , clove and mint leaves to it
  4. Add nutmeg powder to it and 2 tsp of tea powder to it
  5. keep the stove simmer for 2-3 minutes
  6. Add milk and sugar to it and bring it to boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes
  7. Switch off the flame and strain it using strainer and serve hot

Notes:

  1. Use fresh spices for best results
  2. Adjust the taste of spices based on your taste
