Parotta is a layered flatbread made using maida. I dint try to make parotta but i tried making chilli parotta from frozen parotta. Everyone in my family liked the taste . Here is the recipe which is very simple one
Ingredients:
- Parotta – 5(frozen )
- Onion – 1
- Tomatoes – 2
- Capsicum – 1 ( I used Green and yellow,half in each)
- Paneer cubes – 10
- Beans – 3 and carrot – 1 [optional]
- Green Chilli – 2
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
- Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
- Garam Masala – 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves – 3 tsp chopped
- Salt -to taste
- oil – 5tsp
To Temper:
- Cinnamon – 1 stick
- Cloves – 3
- Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
Pre-Preparation:
- Cook the parotta as per the instructions and cool it
- Cut into thin stripes or any shape you want
- Grind the Tomatoes and make a puree
Method:
- Heat oil in a kadai and add items to temper
- Add onions and saute well
- Add Ginger Garlic Paste and saute everything well
- Add little salt because parotta already contains salt
- Add Carrot, beans , capsicum and paneer and saute well for 2 minutes
- Add the tomato puree and add all powders mentioned above and add little water.cover with lid
- cook for 5 minutes in a medium flame
- open the lid and add chopped parotta pieces into it
- Sprinkle little water if the parotta is too dry
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve with onion raita or ketchup
