Basic Hummus Recipe


  1. Chickpeas or white chana – 1 cup
  2. Sesame seeds or Till – 2 tsp
  3. Lemon – 1/2
  4. Garlic – 4 pods
  5. Oil – 4 tsp
  6. Salt – to taste
  7. Cumin powder – 1/4 tsp


  1. Soak chana for 6-8 hrs and cooked for 2 whistles
  2. Dry roast the sesame seeds in low flame


  1. Powder the sesame seeds and keep it separately
  2. In mixie jar, add chana, sesame powder, lemon juice , garlic, salt and cumin powder
  3. Add oil to it and grind everything to a smooth paste
  4. Transfer the hummus to a bowl S
  5. Serve it as a dip to vegetables or wrap or with bread
