How to cook foxtail millet?

It is the second most famous millet in india . It is known as kangni/kakum/rala (hindi),thinai(tamil),korra(telugu) and navane(kannada).

Foxtail millet is gluten free. Rich in calcium,iron,potassium and zinc. It is highly rich in fibre content and keeps up in satiety hence replaced by rice during dieting.

Preparation time: 10 mins

Cooking time :15 mins

Serves : 2 people

Ingredients:

  1. Foxtail millet – 1 cup
  2. Water – 2 cups
  3. Salt – to taste
  4. Refined oil – 1 tsp

Method:

  1. First take 1 cup of foxtail millet and wash to remove any dust collected.
  2. Soak it for 10 minutes and covert it to the pressure cooker.
  3. Wait till 4 whistles and the foxtail millet is ready to serve.

Note:

The millet will get fluffed up , if the fluffy nature has been attained after pressure cooking it, just sprinkle water and close the lid again.
