Spicy Tofu Sambal Recipe

Tofu is a great ingredient with lot of nutrients. Today i am going to share tofu or beancurd sambal recipe. This recipe is a spicy one and goes well with rice, chapati or pulkas . Here is the recipe.

Preparation time : 10 mins

Cooking time : 15 mins

Ingredients:

  1. Hard Firm Tofu – 200 g
  2. Onion – 1
  3. Tomato – 1
  4. Red chillies – 10 (8 spicy chilli + 2 kashmiri chilli) : Soak it in hot water for 10 mins
  5. Garlic – 5 pods
  6. Oil – 4 tsp
  7. Salt – to taste

Method:

  1. Heat a kadai and add a tsp of oil
  2. Add cubes of tofu and fry for 3 minutes and keep it separately
  3. Blend the soaked chillies, onion , garlic and tomatoes into smooth paste
  4. Heat the pan and add 3 tsp of oil
  5. Add the paste and saute well
  6. Add salt and cook till the oil separates from the mixture
  7. Add tofu pieces to it and mix gently with the mixture and close with lid ( You can add capsicum pieces at this time if u have)
  8. Cook for 5 minutes in simmer flame
  9. Switch it off and garnish it with coriander leaves
  10. Serve it with your favourite dish
