Vazhakkai varuval is a traditional dish cooked in most of the south-indian kitchen. This quick recipe would a good sidish for rice items (like coconut rice, lemon rice)and kuzhambu.
Ingredients:
- Big Raw Banana -1
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder – 3/4 tsp
- salt – to taste
- oil – 5 tsp
Pre-Preparation:
- Peel the skin of raw banana and cut into slices
- Put the slices in water containing salt, it prevents the blackening
Method:
- Heat a pan with 1 cup of water and add sliced bananas
- cook it for 3 minutes in medium flame , it results in half cooked raw banana
- Drain the water and take the raw banana pieces
- Marinate it with salt, turmeric powder ,chilli powder and rice flour.let it sit for atleast 5 minutes
- Heat 2 tsp oil in pan and add few pieces to it
- cook it in medium flame and flip it to other side once it is cooked
- cook the other side too and drain it
- Repeat the steps 5-7 for remaining slices
