Keerai Poriyal/Greens stir fry

This is a simple recipe we can make it as sidish . According to me it is easier compare to keerai kootu. Try this healthy recipe and everyone will like it

Serves : 2

Ingredients:

  1. Mulai keerai – 1 bunch
  2. Shallots/small onions – 5-7 nos
  3. Grated coconut – 1/4 cup
  4. Salt – to taste

To temper:

  1. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  2. Split Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
  3. Red chillies – 2

Pre-preparation:

Remove the root from the keerai and wash the keerai well and cut into fine pieces

Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a kadai and add items to temper
  2. Add small onions and saute well
  3. Mix salt to it
  4. Add keerai and mix it gently. It reduces its volume and leave some water, that is enough to cook the keerai
  5. Dont cook the keerai by closing the lid, it results in change of color
  6. keep the flame in high, so the water evaporates and keerai cooks well
  7. Stir it continuosly, to avoid burning
  8. Add the grated coconut and mix well
  9. keep it in medium flame for 2 minutes and switch it off
  10. Keerai poriyal is ready
