I have tasted Mushroom Pepper fry in my friend’s home. I wanted to try it in home. It is very simple and spicy. we can have this with rice and roti. I personally like it to have with Rasam rice. Here is the recipe.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time : 10 minutes
Serves : 2
Ingredients:
- White Button Mushroom – 1 pack
- Big onion – 1
- Whole Pepper – 2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Garlic – 4 pods
- Curry leaves – 2 strings
- Chopped coriander leaves – 1 tsp
- oil – 2 tsp
- salt – to taste
To temper:
- Fennel – 1 tsp
- Jeera – 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli or Green chilli – 1
Pre-preparation:
- Clean the mushroom well. Check the post for how to clean the mushroom
- Dry roast the whole pepper in a kadai till aroma comes. It will take 2-3 minutes. cool it and grind it to a coarse mixture
Method:
- Slice the onions and mushrooms
2. Heat oil in pan and add items to temper
3. Add onions and saute well
4. Add garlic and curry leaves to it
5. Add Mushroom and saute well, It will start leaving water
6. Then add turmeric, pepper powder and garam masala, mix everything well and sprinkle little water if necessary
7. Close the lid and cook in medium flame 5- 7 minutes. Stir occasionally
8. Once it is cooked , garnish it with coriander leaves

Tips:
you can use store bought pepper powder
you can add capsicum if you like
