Onion tomato Coconut Chutney

This chutney takes some time to prepare but its tastes good with Idli/Dosa.

Ingredients:

  1. Onions – 1
  2. Tomato – 1
  3. Red chillies – 4
  4. Green chillies – 2
  5. Grated coconut – 4 tsp
  6. oil – 4 tsp
  7. Salt – to taste

To temper:

  1. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  2. Urad dal split – 1/2 tsp
  3. Hing – a pinch
  4. Curry leaves – 2 springs

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai, add cut onions, chillies and saute well.
  2. Add tomatoes after 2 minutes and saute well
  3. Add salt to speed up the process
  4. once everything saute well, add grated coconut and mix it well
  5. Switch off the flame and let the mixture cool down
  6. Grind it in mixie and transfer it to bowl
  7. Heat oil in a kadai and do temper the chutney using ‘To temper’ list
  8. Serve it with Idli/Dosa
